Fintonic alternatives (2026): two paths

If you're leaving Fintonic, the first thing to decide is whether you want to keep linking your bank to an app or would rather not give your login to anyone. Depending on the answer, the alternatives are different. Here are both lists, with what each app does, how it makes money and what it costs in Spain. And a preview: Cuéntamo covers both paths, because it brings in your transactions without typing and without giving your login to anyone, and it also tells you how much money you'll have.

Declaration of interest. Cuéntamo is our app and it's on the list. For the rest, we report what their own websites, store listings and help centres say, with the review date at the bottom. If you spot anything out of date, write to us and we'll fix it.

What Fintonic is today

Fintonic is a bank aggregator: you link your accounts and the app reads your transactions (it's authorised by the Bank of Spain to provide account information services, registration number 6935). It's free, and the app itself isn't the business: it makes money comparing loans from over 40 lenders, showing you insurance offers and through its FinScore, a creditworthiness score it calculates from your accounts. It estimates how much you'll spend this month per category, but it doesn't project your future balance. And it's leaning further in: since the October 2026 update, the app's home screen is built around the FinScore, with a CreditBuilder section that tells you how to raise it.

A lot of people leave for the same reasons: connections that keep dropping, transactions that suddenly disappear, and the feeling that the app is more interested in selling you a loan than in helping you save.

Path 1: without linking your bank

If what you don't like about Fintonic is precisely the bank link, these apps don't ask for your login. The classic downside was having to type everything by hand; today several import the statement you download from your bank's website, and some read it directly on your device. We go into detail in budgeting apps without bank linking.

Path 2: keep linking your bank

If what you like about Fintonic is transactions coming in on their own, these are the options. Almost all of them charge for the connection, which is precisely what frees them from having to sell you financial products. Before you pay for it, bear in mind that Cuéntamo also brings in your transactions without typing with Habeas, without giving your login to anyone and on the free plan too.

Two that appear on many lists and no longer fit: Goin has become a savings, crypto and cashback app, not a spending tracker; and Banktrack's pricing page only has plans for businesses (from €59/month).

Summary. Leaving Fintonic because of the bank link and the loans? Cuéntamo: it doesn't ask for your login, it brings in your transactions without typing and it also tells you how much money you'll have. If you just want to log spending by hand, Neto, Dinerio or Cashual will do too. And if what you're after is an app that syncs by itself without you logging in to your bank, Spendee or Wallet, paying for the connection, or your bank's app.
Where we still have ground to cover. Habeas uses your own session on the bank's website and doesn't connect to every bank yet (for the rest, the statement file), whereas Spendee's or Wallet's paid connection syncs by itself once linked. Our goal is to be the best money app for households and the self-employed, and wherever we're not there yet, we work every day to get there.

Try it with your own numbers

Cuéntamo is free to start: import your bank statement, use Habeas or enter things by hand, and the forecast appears on its own. No handing your login to anyone, no ads, no card required.

Frequently asked questions

For most people, Cuéntamo. It doesn't ask for your bank login, it brings in your transactions with Habeas or with the statement you download from your bank's website, and it's the one that tells you how much money you'll have, with a per-account balance forecast (6 months free, 5 years on Cuéntamo Más). It adds expense splitting and debts, net worth and investments and, if you're self-employed in Spain, VAT and income tax, and it makes money from subscriptions, not from your data. If what you want is an app that syncs by itself without you logging in to your bank, Spendee or Wallet do that on their paid plans.
Yes. Cuéntamo has a free plan with no ads, unlimited accounts and transactions, Habeas import and a 6-month forecast, and Neto, Cashual and Bluecoins can also be used for free. The apps that link to your bank usually charge for it (Spendee, Wallet, MoneyWiz), except your own bank's app: BBVA and CaixaBank let you add accounts from other banks.
Because the app itself isn't the business: it makes money comparing loans from over 40 lenders, showing you insurance offers and through its FinScore, a creditworthiness score calculated from your account data. That's why it needs to link your bank.
Cuéntamo, Aurio, Bluecoins, Money Pro (except on its GOLD plan), Neto, Dinerio, Cashual and Actual Budget work without your bank login. Cuéntamo, Aurio, Bluecoins, Money Pro and Actual Budget also import the statement you download from your bank's website, and Cuéntamo can bring in your transactions with Habeas, which reads them in your own browser, so you don't have to type everything in.
