Ask your assistant (Claude, ChatGPT…)

Connect Cuéntamo over MCP and ask about your money in plain words

What it is for

To ask your AI assistant about your money and get answers from your Cuéntamo data: "how much can I spend this month?", "will I go into the red before summer?", "how much VAT do I owe this quarter?". Cuéntamo does the maths, exactly as in the app; the assistant just tells you.

What it can and can't do

  • Look things up: your account books, accounts and balances, transactions, what is coming up in the next few days, your forecast, how much you can spend, a month's summary and, if you're self-employed, your quarterly returns and annual income tax summary.
  • Add a transaction ("add €42 of petrol on the card") and confirm a forecast that has already been paid or received. One at a time, and you can undo them in Cuéntamo with Ctrl+Z.
  • Nothing else: it doesn't delete, edit, or touch your settings or recurring items.

How to connect it

  1. In your assistant, add a custom connector or MCP server with this address: https://cuentamo.com/api/v1/mcp.
  2. The assistant sends you to Cuéntamo. You sign in and see which app is asking and what it will be able to do.
  3. You click Allow and go back to the assistant, now connected.

Example

Laura asks Claude: "Can I pay €600 for the kids' summer camp in July without touching my cushion?". Claude checks how much she can spend and July's forecast, and says yes: she has €1,240 above her cushion and no big bills in July. Then she says "add it as a forecast on 1 July" and it shows up in Transactions.

Good to know

  • Your data goes to your assistant: what it looks up is sent to the company that provides it (Anthropic, OpenAI…) under its terms. Only connect it if you're fine with that.
  • Free plan: the assistant sees the same detail you do, six months of forecast. With Cuéntamo Más, five years. "How much can I spend?" always looks at the five years, so it never gives you an optimistic figure.
  • Disconnecting: in Settings → Profile → Connected apps you see the connected assistants and when they were last used. If you disconnect one, it loses access immediately.
  • With an API token: if your assistant can't ask for permission, with Cuéntamo Más you can use a token from the API section of your profile in the Authorization: Bearer header.
  • The demo account can't be connected.
