Read-only role (viewer)
Let someone look without touching
What it's for
For someone to have access to the book without risk of breaking anything. Your dad wants to see how the family finances are going, but he's not great with screens and you're worried he'll delete something by accident. Your accountant wants to check your freelance books without modifying data. Your teenage child is learning about finances and wants to watch how you do it. In all these cases, a viewer.
What a viewer can and can't do
- Can: see all accounts, all movements (real and forecast), recurring items, budgets, savings goals, the balance forecast, analysis. Any query or chart.
- Can't: create, edit or delete anything. Can't confirm forecast movements, can't add expenses, can't touch the book's settings. Read-only, literally.
- Also can't: invite more people, export/import data, or change anything in the freelance module.
How to invite someone as a viewer
In Settings → Account book → Members, enter the person's email and, in the role dropdown, choose "Read only" instead of "Member". The rest of the process is the same: the person receives an email, accepts, enters the book… but in read-only mode.
Changing a member's role
If you invited someone as a full member and want to switch them to read-only (or vice versa), tap the icon next to their name in the members list and change the role. The change is immediate.
